Description:

Dear Members,

The January Luncheon will be held on Thursday, January 16th at Noon at Flair of Country Banquet Hall, located in the Cambria County Airport.  You must register for luncheon by Tuesday evening, 5pm (January 14th).  We must give a head count for lunch by Wednesday morning.  The price is $12.00 and can be paid at the door by cash or check (no shows will be invoiced).  If there are any problems or questions about registering, please email easthillsbusiness@gmail.com.

This month we will be voting on officers.  Open positions are Secretary and President.  We are also welcoming a guest speaker, Derek Partsch the Director of Group Sales for the Johnstown Tomahawks.

Please remember to submit your registration forms for 2020.  If you need a registration form please email easthillsbusiness@gmail.com and we will forward you the new form. Monthly Meeting Minutes

Sept. 15, 2016

Attendance

Sixteen (16) members and guests were present.

Opening Remarks

The regular monthly meeting of the East Hills Business Association was called to order by President Missy Grose.

Missy requested approval of the June minutes, which distributed to members present at the meeting.

Treasurer’s Report

The First Commonwealth Bank account balance was reported as $3,296.59.

Donations

Request to donate candy from EHBA for annual Trick or Treat night. Motion to approve Melinda Novak and Larry Crespo

New Business

Missy passed around a donation request from Bishop Carroll H. S. – Motion to not approve – Unanimous. American Red Cross mailed flier for volunteer drivers. John Huston suggsted attending John Maxwell – Leadership Expert Speaker at Ace’s on 10/7/16.

Old Business

Thank yous for donations were received from: Saturday’s Kitchen, 30th Spirit Class for Chang Soon-Shiong Medical Center Tee Sponsorship, and AUCP

Featured Speaker

The presentation was given David Burns Assistant Program Director for Nulton Diagnostic & Treatment Center. Nulton has a network of outpatient programs and services spans 16 counties and reaches more than 3,000 people every year. He gave an informative desription of the Adult Partial Hospitization Program and other serviecs Nulton’s offer. Dave also thanked the group for inviting him to speak.

Give-Aways

Hello Everyone,

This month’s meeting will be held on July 21st at Noon. We will be meeting at UPJ’s Biddle Hall, Johnstown, PA.  This is a joint presentation with speakers from Eagles Ridge Industries and UPJ.  They will be discussing self defense in the digital world.

Taking Steps to End Cancer

The Light The Night Walk is a fundraising campaign benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their funding of research to find blood cancer cures.

It’s about Community

Coming together for a common goal, friends, families and co-workers form fundraising walk teams. Millions of consumers also help by donating at retail outlets. Culminating in inspirational and memorable evening walks every fall, participants in nearly 200 communities across North America join together carrying illuminated lanterns to take steps to end cancer.

It’s about Funding Research

Nationally, Light The Night participants raise an average of $250. Raise $1,000 or more to become a member of our Bright Lights Club. April 21st Luncheon

Monthly Meeting Minutes

March 17, 2016

Attendance

14 Members and guests were present.

Opening Remarks

The regular monthly meeting of the East Hills Business Association was called to order by President Missy Grose.

Missy requested approval of the February minutes, which were available on the website and distributed to members present at the meeting. Motion to approve – Lynne Faint & Chris Rubal.

Treasurer’s Report

The First Commonwealth Bank account balance was reported as $3,675.15.

Old Business

Approved letter for speaker requests were mailed 3-17-16. Letters were sent to Jr. Achievement and Catholic Charities.

Chamber of Johnstown information was updated and also sent out 3-17-16

The 2016 EHBA membership form is posted on the EHBA website and will was emailed to all members.

Ed Porada advised East Hills ambulance location for lunch was not ready yet/ Will keep the group informed.

New Business

Missy asked the members present to help brainstorm ideas to make the group more appealing as well as attract new & existing members. Some suggestions are: Locations for lunches planned, more definitive scope of what the group was designed for and what it will do, present a line up of speakers for future speakers, a bulletin board detailing group’s purpose, mixers, literature to give each member to have at their business locations, mailing post cards with information, update website with a list of locations and speakers, and target companies we do not have.

Featured Speaker

This month’s featured speaker was Paula Eppley -Newman from Beginnings, Executive Director for Beginnings, Inc.  Paula discussed Beginning’s Programs and services it provides to those in need. Early childhood intervention, child abuse prevention and parent resources are a few of the many services available to those in need. They also have a Jr. leadership program for students in grade 6-12.

February Meeting Reminder

 

Meeting Reminder

The February East Hills Business Association meeting will be held at the Richland High School located at 1 Academic Avenue, Johnstown PA 15904 on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Noon. Lunch price is $12.00 and payable at the door.

Please park in the front of the building.  Enter through the main office and identify that you are there for the EHBA meeting. There will be signs and escorts provided.

The speakers for the meeting will be Mr. Bailey, HS Principal, Mr. Wilson, ES Principal, and Mr. Yanity, RSD Foundation.

A tour will be offered after the luncheon.

Just a reminder that the East Hills Business Association Membership Drive is underway so we welcome members of the business community to join today! Guest lunches are on us!
